City Centre Farmer's Market

Saturday, July 6, 2013

I woke up early today and decided to go and check the weekly farmer's market. Stephen was working so I ended up going by myself. I didn't realize how cold it was until I was outside wearing my t-shirt and shorts (and shivering). Yet I was too lazy to go back and get a sweater.

Every week in the Summer the 104 Street is closed to cars and it's transferred into a market. When I arrived I realized I wasn't the only Early Bird strolling the streets at 9am. It wasn't just vegetables and berries people were selling; there was pottery, clothes, jewellery, flowers, cupcakes..you name it! It reminded me a lot of our market place back in Turku, Finland. I bought a yogurt and sat down for a while and just watched people go buy. I strolled the streets for an hour after which I decided to do my necessary (and less necessary..oops!) shopping at the mall.

Next time I go I will actually buy some vegetables and homemade cookies! And hopefully have some company! :)

Hugs, Helena xx
