Stephen's Birthday Weekend in Banff

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Stephen had his birthday mid-July and suggested that the whole family would go to Banff. So we did. I didn't take too many pictures this time but here are some pictures I captured. I just can't get enough of mountains. Incredible. Amazing. Stunning.

Film // Part 1: Fort Edmonton Park

Friday, July 12, 2013

I got my Canon AE-1 Camera for free couple years ago but I have been too lazy to use it. Since I got it I have only developed one film. A month ago I thought I really wanted to try it out and I was so excited to see how my second film turned out! Their imperfection makes them perfect! The pictures have not been edited at all. Stay tuned for more film pictures!

Which one is your favourite? :)
Enjoy your weekend!

P.S Also I am working on some minor layout changes to make things work a little better!

Calgary Stampede

Friday, July 12, 2013

I went to the Calgary Stampede this week with Stephen's parents. It was nice to get out of town and do something different from my 'daily routine'. If I hadn't watched or read the news I wouldn't have known about the disastrous floods that took over Calgary couple weeks ago. I must say the Calgarians have done an amazing job helping each others, working together and being able to have the annual Stampede (The grounds were pretty much under water). A lot is still to be done and many people are without homes but I am sure that the Stampede has lifted people´s spirits up!

Calgary Stampede? An annual rodeo, exhibition and festival in Calgary.

On our way back to Edmonton we stopped at a park/farm and I was able to make friends with this beautiful creature.
I named her Chocolate.

Street Performers Festival

Monday, July 8, 2013

Yesterday Stephen and I went to see the Street Performers Festival at Sir Winston Churchill Square. It's a ten day festival where all the jugglers and comedians come together and make people laugh! We were able to see and be entertained by The Checkerboard Guy. He was hilarious and really talented too! The festival also offers food, drinks, mini doughnuts.. and deep-fried Mars bars (I know that I am in North America)! Stephen had been craving for one since Canada day so we bought one and I must say it wasn't bad at all ;)
It was a sweet day indeed!

Hugs, Helena xx
